Pen Yr Ole Wen is a pyramidal peak located in the Carneddau, the last wilderness in Snowdonia. It is situated to the north of Idwal Cottage youth hostel on the A5 road, and can be climbed via a path that leads directly up the south west "corner", climbing 675m in about 1.5km. From the summit, hikers can enjoy stunning views of Cwm Idwal and the surrounding alpine landscape.
